lyrics

It's just a chance after all
I'm no good at holding back.
Somewhere down the past I cried into my lap
and became a question mark,
so here we are, trying to solve our own hearts.
What a strange art.

I've sunk to the bottom,
I've gone to the shallow,
reborn in the deep.

Friends will come, upset you some,
because they're not like you knew.
Sometimes we try to love so pure and clean,
but we're growing through moods in between.

I've sunk to the bottom,
I've gone to the shallow,
reborn in the deep.

For this time, I'll give it might,
to move past the ankles.
I'll show my face,
and not throw it under,
the grace of the thankful.
What a strange pull.

I've sunk to the bottom,
I've gone to the shallow,
reborn in the deep.

It's up and over, up and over,
on the edge then you dive into the pool.
And you swim like hell, you swim like hell,
somedays you're just treading like a fool.

about

Robin Bacior Portland, Oregon

Born and raised in California, Bacior took great influence from California folk traditions and brought them with her to New York, where she began to collaborate with cellist Dan Bindschedler. The two started mending in more textured instrumentation, layering dynamic sounds into simple folk structures. Bacior and Bindschedler now both live in Portland, where they're working on a new album for 2015. ... more
