about

"There is something to be said in this day and age for folk songs that still catch your attention, so kudos to Robin Bacior for capturing that something. Much of her appeal is in the straightforward nature of the tracks—including "Man Before Me", where her main concern is not meeting some indie niche but the song itself. Her impressive vocals are front and center and benefit from the lack of distraction, and we are left with an elegant reminder of what it is to craft a song." -Rcrd Lbl

about

Born and raised in California, Bacior took great influence from California folk traditions and brought them with her to New ... more York, where she began to mend in more textured instrumentation, layering dynamic sounds into simple folk structures. In 2010, Bacior invited cellist Dan Bindschedler to join her. The two are frequently joined by Josh Bess on drums and Gabby Sherba on bass and backing vocals. less
